Inteelt: Dit is het paren van dieren die dichter aan elkaar verwant zijn dan de gemiddelde verwantschap in dit ras.
Outcross: Het paren van katten uit verschillende bloedlijnen.
Foundationkat: Een foundationkat is een kat waarvan de ouders een bijdrage hebben geleverd aan de genvoorraad, alleen voor de desbetreffende kat.
Overkweek: Het overmatige fokken met dieren waardoor de gezondheid van deze dieren ernstig in gevaar wordt gebracht.
Broodfok: Fokkers die enkel fokken met hun dieren louter om financiële redenen. Dit is helaas een veel voorkomende manier van fokken die ervoor zorgt dat er meer en meer ziektes worden verspreidt. Ook aken zij het moeilijk voor andere fokkers om nog gezonde bloedlijnen te vinden.
